SECOND APPEAL LETTER
Although I sent you an earlier letter regarding my fight against Qwest and their unsubstantiated interconnection fees, maybe my first letter didn’t make it all clear. Mountain is fighting for the right to have ALL paging companies billed properly (if at all) by ALL local exchange carriers. If we win this one (and we intend to) then YOUR bills will be lower. The effect of our victory will be a victory FOR YOU.
Just because your name isn’t on the case, doesn’t mean that our efforts won’t have a effect on the way that LECs bill everyone for use of the local network. And although you might be tempted to let Mountain be a martyr and let it blow its cash on fighting what is EVERYONE’S battle, we think that you aren’t that rotten. I think that if you really understood what Mountain is doing for you, you would want to help, if only a little.
Mountain is taking Qwest and the FCC to the U.S. Court of Appeals, to get a fair shake on the unlawful billing methods of LECs, that can result in your company being overcharged by 30% or more!! Mountain’s case has been joined by large paging carriers and cellular companies that understand that this case is a big deal. The companies named in the suit look like a Who’s Who of the industry. And among them is little old Mountain, the lead guy in the whole case. Without Mountain, the case is gone and the LECs win.
Should you wish to review the FCC’s ruling, so you can see for yourself what this is all about, it is available on the web at both of the following addresses:
http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-02-220A1.pdf
and
http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-02-220A1.txt.
The problem is that Sprint’s got plenty of money for their lawyers and Arch has got enough cash for their counsel, but Mountain’s bank account isn’t that big. I need help with my legal bills or, said another way,
I need your help to keep this case alive for all of us.
I don’t expect you to break your bank for me. I just can’t afford to break my bank for all of you. So, do me a favor. Heck, do yourself a favor. Stop what you’re doing, right now, and write a check for a few hundred to help me with the legal bills. You will be helping yourself, and doing what’s right at the same time. Again, I need your help. Please don’t leave me turning in the wind. Do the right thing. Do it today.
